i have decided that i'm going to get thin. that might sound silly but i'm dead serious. 

i'm sick of being self-concious

i want to go to arkansas next year and feel confident.

today was the last time i'll ever put on my greenwood uniform.

last time gary will ever tape my shin splints.

last time i'll ever beg for more pre wrap for my hair.

today was the last time i stepped out onto the court with my best friends.

the last time i go over as a team captain for basketball.

the last time i get my name announced as a starter.

today was the last time i'll ever get called for a foul. shoot a free throw. get my shot blocked.

the last time i run out of the locker room. get those pre-game butterflies.

the last time i eat a pregame meal.

today was bittersweet.

i truly, truly never thought this day would come.

i can't believe i'll never play basketball again.

that's the bitter.

but it's also sweet.

i'm so lucky to have had basketball for the past 12 years. it has made me who i am as a person.

basketball teaches such great life lessons. my coach was completely right when he told us that at the beginning of my freshman year.

it's sweet because i have made lifelong friendships through this sport. 

these girls and i have seen each other at our angriest, weakest, most upset moments but we still love each other.

a different kind of love.

basketball was who i was in highschool. and i am so lucky that i have had the opportunity to play.

i love my coaches.

1. i graduate in 83 days. not that i'm counting or anything.

2. i'm so excited to try out this new asian restaurant today! i'll let ya know what i think.

Springtime!

so.

today it was 65 degrees. well, in my opinion anything over 60 warrants this: 

yes. i wore nike shorts today, but it's fine. it's really fine.

in other news this is my last week of basketball (cue the awwwwww's)

i cannot even began to believe that my time with basketball is almost over.

in other, not quite so sad news....are any of you obsessed with pinterest?! i literally have my life planned out. i have boards created for everything. and i mean everrryyything.. from fashion to food to dieting to my future home everything i need or want is on this amazing site.

so. 

since it was spring today i thought i'd show a few of my favorite spring-time items from pinterest.

i love. love. love this dress. since this spring will also be graduation time i'm thinking that this little number would be perfect for a party!

TOMS are my summertime staple. i wish i had them with me right now so i could show you how worn out they are. i wear them all. the. time. toms just remind me of summer and spring and happiness ah. c

can you tell i'm sick of winter?! the sad thing is we've had such a mild winter and i still want spring.

i can't even begin to explain the joy i will have from being able to wear jean shorts of any kind!

until it becomes springtime i guess i'll have to settle for the occasional nike shorts. while i continue to countdown the days until spring.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

today i'm loving so many things!

1. i'm loving the weather!! it is over 60 degrees here in good ol' springfield, i cannot WAIT for springtime! favorite season of the year!

2. i'm loving tory burch!! and so hoping that i get this for graduation:)!

3. i'm still loving my tv shows, desperate housewives, grey's, and teen mom 2. i know they maybe aren't the most informative shows but i look forward to them every week. 

4. i'm loving that it's almost friday!! wahooo!!

5. i'm loving miss kadyn..i'll introduce her soon she is honestly an angel

6. and of course i'm loving miller mcneil:) just seeing his precious face makes my day!

86 Days.

86 days.

that's it. 99.9999% of the time i cannot wait to get out of here. honestly. i'm going to miss the people so much! but the schoolwork? no! absolutely not. the petty drama? no way jose. 

i cannot believe that after 13 years. yes, 13 years! i only have 86 days left.

my class has gone through so much during our 13 years here at good ol' gwood! i can honestly say that my classmates are like my family.

we fight like brothers and sisters, we would never date each other (minus jackie and aaron;) but we all know that we have each others back.

in 86 days it will by my day! the start of something totally new and frightening and overwhelming. i'm sure as it gets closer i'll get more and more sad to let go, but right now i cannot wait to graduate.

it's something i've looked forward to for so long and i can't even being to believe that it's less than 100 days away.

so so so weird/exciting/happy/sad/scary/overwhelming/new! 

i don't even know how to explain it. this is such the definition of bittersweet. SO bitter and sad about leaving what i've known for the past 18 years but so SO sweet:)!! 

this week is my last week of basketball. ever. never again will i walk into the greenwood gym for practice. never again will i hear coach say "get on the baseline" or "verify that". i know it will start to hit me this week but i just can't imagine not playing basketball. once again a bittersweet emotion because after basketball i'm that much closer to graduation but it's so so sad:(!

Meet Miller

you will hear me mention Miller a lot. well, this is him.

Miller McNeil Woodruff is totally the number one guy in my life;)!

His story is truly amazing and one that i am honored to tell.

sweet little miller was born on march 28, 2011.

pure and true miller is a beacon of hope, faith, and love.

about two weeks after miller was born his parents, patrick and meredith noticed he was not moving his arms or legs as much as they thought he should be.

they took miller to their doctor who immediately referred them to arkansas children's hospital.

it was at arkansas children's hospital that meredith and patrick received news that no parents should ever hear. 

their sweet, sweet baby boy would not live to see his 1st birthday.

miller mcneil was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, a genetic muscular disease much like ALS. 

this horrific disease weakens the muscles until he would no longer be able to breathe or swallow.

even though their world was falling apart, patrick and meredith shared millers story with people in hopes of raising awareness for this disease.

they sure captured my heart. 

i don't know what it is about this little guy, but he has changed me and i will never be the same.

while laying on his mama's chest baby miller earned his angel wings on june 23, 2011. 

although he is no longer here, his legacy lives on. 

it lives on every time a miller hat is passed out. every time a bracelet is bought. 

miller lives on every time someone see's his signature and thinks of him

miller's legacy lives on every time someone remembers his precious blue eyes and gorgeous smile and thinks of him.

i don't know about you, but he is the most beautiful baby i have ever seen.

i truly feel honored to be apart of his amazing legacy.

miller has made my faith stronger, made me love deeper and appreciate more..

thank you for being with me every day. not a day goes by that i don't think of you. you are truly an angel and i am so lucky to have gotten to know you. love you forever and always little guy.

I'm still here!!!

This weekend has been soooooo crazy.....crazy enough that I'm relieved it's Monday (that tells ya somethin)! Anyway I was on pinterest and saw this and I HAD to share it:).



How perfect is this saying?! Sometimes I get so stressed out I have a hard time letting go. Some may say I'm a bit of a control freak...i am not sure if that is completely accurate. Hello hello!!

I thought I should formally introduce myself so here we go!

My name is Claire, and I am a midwest girl from Missouri.

my mama and I:)! 

i am the lover of my family (my mom dad and sister), a pinterest addict! a basketball player, a babysitter, and a future arkansas razorback!

My sister, Anna, and I

i have grown up in missouri all my life and could not imagine a better place to spend my childhood. i am so so excited to go down to fayetteville next august! i go to a super small school and i've known most of my classmates for 13 years.

i have no idea what i want to do with my life, except that i want to help people and truly be joyful.

i would be lying if i said life was an easy road with no bumps, but just like forrest gump said, "life is like a box a chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." the bumps in the road have led me here to this. and this, now, is exactly where i'm supposed to be.

i have been given the grace i don't deserve by Jesus Christ and will strive everyday to make Him smile. Jesus' love is truly the most amazing love i have ever known, He has loved me when i don't deserve it. 

it is hard for me to believe that i am almost done with the first chapter of my life. thanks for joining me in my last 90 days as a highschooler and as i go on to bigger and better things:)!

1. I am so excited to graduate!! 92 days, not that I'm counting or anything.

4. I peed my pants when I was in Kindergarten...yes you read that right. I peed my pants on the stage. in front of everyone! so embarrassing. 

5. I was such a cautious child, when I would meet someone new I would tell my parents, "I don't trust them."

6. My favorite movie is When Harry Met Sally, I cannot explain how much I love that movie!

7. I also love Remember the Titans. "You have 12 brothers and sisters?" "No 8" "Yeah 12 sounds better."
